Students of SMA 1 state senior high school in Jambi have staged protests against their headmistress Eva Riana for a lack of financial transparency
tudents of SMA 1 state senior high school in Jambi have staged protests against their headmistress Eva Riana for a lack of financial transparency.
The students alleged that Eva may have misused funds from the Student Executive Organization (OSIS) after they found that OSIS funds had been used without details of the expenditure.
During Monday’s protest, the students demanded that OSIS be allowed to operate independently of the headmistress.
Responding to the students’ rally, Jambi Education Agency pledged to follow up the demands, with the agency’s acting chairman, Abdul Muti, saying the school had to refund any OSIS funds used by the school. “The headmaster is also not allowed to influence or control the work of OSIS, but OSIS still has to coordinate with its advisor,” Abdul added.
The school’s deputy headmaster Wanto immediately held a dialogue with the students.
