fficials from 11 supreme audit institutions from around the globe are gathering in Bali from Wednesday to Friday to discuss and share ideas on the roles of such institutions in achieving the United Nations’ sustainable development goals (SDGs).
The ninth meeting of the Steering Committee of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) committee on knowledge sharing and knowledge service kicked off in Kuta and is being attended by 25 supreme auditors from 11 countries.
The Bali meeting is also being held to discuss the 2017–2022 INTOSAI Strategic Plan. Indonesia’s Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) is currently the chair of INTOSAI’s working group on environmental auditing.
“This meeting is being held to discuss the latest development of our work plan to achieve the sustainable development goals,” BPK Chairman Moermahadi Soerdja Djanegara said.
He said the SDGs, which United Nations member states jointly committed themselves to in September 2015, comprise 17 goals that provide ambitious and long-term action plans for people around the world.
