he Jakarta administration has budgeted funds for governor-elect Anies Baswedan’s entrepreneurship training program, in the revised 2017 city budget.
One District One Center of Entrepreneurship (OK OCE) is one of the priority programs of Anies and his deputy Sandiaga Uno.
Jakarta Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises and Trade Agency head Irwandi said the funds for the program amounted to Rp 1.2 billion (US$90,000). Therefore, the agency planned to attract thousands of people throughout Jakarta and the Thousand Islands regency this year to join the program.
“Around 4,000 people will be enrolled from all regions including those coming from the Thousand Islands,” Irwandi said at City Hall on Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com.
He added that the agency would disseminate information about the program, recruit people and provide training in collaboration with the city’s manpower and transmigration, industry and energy and social affairs agencies.
With the program, the agency plans to create 40,000 new entrepreneurs per year. (wnd)
