orruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators have handed over to prosecutors the case dossiers on former Bengkulu governor Ridwan Mukti and his wife Lily Maddari.
Ridwan and Lily have been named suspects in an alleged bribery case pertaining to infrastructure projects in the province.
The commission has also handed over the case dossier on businessman Rico Dian Sari, who is charged with bribing the couple.
“All three suspects are set to be tried at the Bengkulu Corruption Court. They will depart from Jakarta to Bengkulu in the afternoon [on Monday],” KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said.
He added that the Bengkulu Police would take Ridwan and his wife into custody while both suspects awaited trial.
“Meanwhile, Rico will be placed at the Malabero Detention Center,” he said.
The KPK named Ridwan a suspect for allegedly receiving Rp 1 billion (US$75,500) in bribes from PT Statika Mitra Sarana (SMS) to rig a tender for two road development projects in Rejang Lebong regency, Bengkulu province.
Lily allegedly served as a middlewoman between her husband and Rico, along with PT SMS president director Jhoni Wijaya, who allegedly handed over the bribe.
The trial for Jhoni began on Sept. 5 at the Bengkulu Corruption Court. (ary)
