29 Jakarta subdistricts awarded by ministry for upholding law

utgoing Jakarta Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat and his subordinates, including district and subdistrict heads, have received Anubhawa Sasana awards from the Law and Human Rights Ministry for their efficacy in upholding the law.

The awards were given to subdistricts that scored high marks in the collection of land and building taxes (PBB), the prevention of underage marriages and the upholding of a good state of law and order, which includes low criminal rates and a clean environment. 

“The biggest concern was that societal awareness of the law improves,” Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly said at City Hall on Monday as quoted by kompas.com.

Twenty-nine subdistricts in the capital were honored with the award, including Kemayoran and Gondangdia in Central Jakarta, Palmerah and Pinangsia in West Jakarta, Pluit and Cilincing in North Jakarta, Rawajati and Kebon Baru in South Jakarta and Bambu Apus and Palmeriam in East Jakarta.

Nationwide, 151 subdistricts were bestowed the award. (fac)
