n an effort to reduce the number of houses categorized as unfit for living (RTLH), Bogor regency in West Java has targeted to implement its house renovation program in an additional 33 districts, which carries with it 220 RTLH.
“Our target is to renovate all houses in poor [condition] in 2018. If we cannot achieve [the target], we will continue next year [...],” Lita Ismu, the head of the Housing, Residential Areas and Land Agency of Bogor regency, said Tuesday as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com.
Lita said there were 8,500 housing units in poor condition in the regency. According to the agency, the number decreased from 2013, when there were 83,982 RTLH.
She said that some of the houses were located in Cibinong, the capital of the regency.
“Based on data from 2013, there were no inadequate houses in Cibinong, while the facts now show that some houses in poor condition still exist. We will allocate funds from the budget for the house renovation program,” she said. (rdi)
