Actress Tara Basro says she will have a role in a play titled Perempuan-Perempuan Chairil (The Women of Chairil).
“It will be my first time [performing as a theater actress],” Tara said, as quoted by kompas.com.
The title of the play is taken from Hasan Aspahani’s book about legendary Indonesian poet Chairil Anwar.
In the play, Tara will play Mirat and actor Reza Rahadian has been cast as Chairil.
Other than Tara and Reza, the play features a star-studded lineup that includes Chelsea Islan as Sri Ajati, Marsha Timothy as Ida and Siti Nursanti as Hapsah.
The play was initiated by Yayasan Titimangsa, with performances to be held at Jakarta Theater, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, on Nov. 11 and 12.
