he First Family has begun preparations for the wedding of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s daughter Kahiyang Ayu and her fiancé Muhammad Bobby Afief Nasution next month in Surakarta.
Preparations for the supporting roles, such as catering, makeup and documentation for the big day, have been completed, including horse-drawn carts that will be used for the bride and groom and their families.
The family has also chosen vendors for the wedding, who gathered at Graha Saba Buana, the wedding venue that the First Family owns, waiting for their directions.
“The preparations are done. Only the decorating remains, which can only be done on the evening of Nov. 5 because other weddings plan to use the venue,” family spokesman and Jokowi’s eldest son Gibran Rakabuming said on Wednesday.
Kahiyang and Bobby will hold their wedding in Jokowi’s hometown in Surakarta on Nov. 8.
The event will have six horse-drawn carts with 12 horses to be used by the couple and their family members to get to the wedding venue through the streets of the city, where Jokowi had once served as a mayor.
The number of horse-drawn carts is greater than the two used at Gibran and Selvi Ananda’s wedding in 2015.
