At a gala dinner of the 17th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science and Technology held in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, on Thursday, Chairul Hudaya, an electrical engineering lecturer, was named the winner of the 2017 ASEAN Young Scientist and Technologist Award.
Chairul said he was happy to win and hoped his accolade would motivate and inspire students and other lecturers. “This result shows we can be on par or even outperform other countries.”
The award is given by The ASEAN Committee on Science and Technology to one scientist or technologist who has either shown promises or substantial contribution to research, development and innovation. Chairul was previously awarded the First Prize of Excellent Lecturer in UI in May, according to the university’s website. He started his career as an electrical engineering lecturer in 2009.
