he operator of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport has announced in a press statement on Friday that it will provide dedicated booths for ride-hailing transportation.
The booths will be available starting Oct. 23 at terminals 1A, 1B and 1C, terminals 2D and 2F and Terminal 3’s domestic and international gates.
Airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II has arrived at the booths as a solution for the hub airport to accommodate ride-hailing transportation, which are still unregulated.
Angkasa Pura's Soekarno-Hatta communications manager, Dewandono Prasetyo Nugroho, said in the press statement that only drivers who have registered with the Police Cooperative (Inkoppol) would be permitted to operate at the airport.
“Their cars must have passed the roadworthiness test and will display special stickers from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport,” Prasetyo said.
To date, Grab is the only ride-hailing transportation company that has cooperated with Inkoppol, and plans to operate 500 cars in the airport area. (ecn)
