The Jakarta Financial Management Body (BPAD) has said that only 67 of 101 city councilors have returned their official cars.
“As of this afternoon [Wednesday], there are 67,” said BPAD head Achmad Firdays Wednesday, as quoted by kompas.com.
He added that the city’s councilors should have returned their cars on Oct. 31 at the latest. Currently, the city administration is trying to figure out what to do with the official cars after the Home Affairs Ministry announced that assets under 7 years could not be auctioned.
Earlier, Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno said he wanted the councilors’ official cars to be rented out to car rental businesses and online-ride hailing transportation drivers. (wnd)
