A man, 36, was arrested by Jakarta Police in Cibubur, West Java, for allegedly killing his boyfriend.
The arrest was made at 2 a.m. on Wednesday, hours after the body of the victim, Imam Maulana, 19, was found by residents near toilets at Kampung Rambutan bus terminal in East Jakarta.
Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono said the suspect was arrested after the police identified the body.
"The perpetrator and the victim were allegedly having a relationship. He was jealous because the victim was close to a woman living in Bandung [West Java]," Argo said, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Jakarta Police’s violent crimes unit chief, Adj. Sr. Comr. Hendy F Kurniawan, said the victim was killed at the Clean House Laundry at Citra Grand business complex in Cibubur, Bekasi. Both the victim and the suspect worked at the laundry.
The suspect covered the body with plastic, carpets and clothes before he disposed of it at the Kampung Rambutan terminal.
"The perpetrator brought the body to the terminal using an app-based taxi," Hendy said, adding that he also took the victim's cellular phone after allegedly killing him. (yon)
