he Indonesian Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) has announced that fees will be increased on nine toll roads by the end of this year.
“The fee increases were permitted after the nine toll roads were deemed to have fulfilled the minimum standards of service” said BPJT head Herry Trisaputra Zuna in Jakarta as reported by tribunnews.com on Tuesday.
The nine toll roads are Semarang-ABC toll road, Palimanan-Plumbon-Kanci toll road, Surabaya-Gempol toll road Cawang-Tomang-Grogol-Pluit toll road, Cawang-Tanjung Priok-Ancol-Pluit toll road, Serpong-Pondok Aren toll road, Ujung Pandang toll road and Nusa Dua-Ngurah Rai-Benoa toll road.
Meanwhile, four other toll roads that have already increased their fees are Tangerang-Merak toll road, Cikampek-Palimanan toll road, Gempol-Pandaan toll road and Makassar IV toll road.
He said it had been decided that the fee increases would be by between six to 13 percent.
The agency assessed the toll roads by referring to eight minimum standards of service indicators — the condition of the road, average speeds, accessibility, mobility, safety, customers care units, environment and rest areas.
“Toll roads must fulfill 87.5 percent of the criteria before fees can be increased. If they fail the fee increase is delayed for 90 days, pending improvements that must be reported to BPJT,” he added. (bbn)
