The Women’s International Club (WIC) Jakarta recently held its 50th WIC Annual Charity Bazaar. The opening ceremony of the bazaar took place on Nov. 15, with the attendance of the WIC’s national patron, Mufidah Jusuf Kalla, the spouse of Vice President Jusuf Kalla, as well as the wives of government officials, the diplomatic community, sponsors and guests.
This year’s bazaar saw 57 stalls from embassies and over 200 local businesses and food stalls participating.
Stalls included the popular “White Elephant” stall, famous for selling secondhand items. All proceeds from the bazaar will go to humanitarian aid projects. The institutions to receive support from the WIC include schools for children with special needs and homecare centers for the elderly.
