eavy rainfall and strong winds that shocked Jakartans on Monday disrupted Transjakarta bus services in several areas, an official has said.
Toppled trees and flooding made it impossible for buses to pass through several areas, according to Transjakarta spokesperson Wibowo.
"There was a fallen tree in Glodok [West Jakarta] and flooding in Blok M [South Jakarta], which has yet to recede. Some of our buses are operating normally now, but some routes are non-operational," he said.
Another fallen tree was reported in East Kuningan, South Jakarta, which disrupted services. However, the area has since been cleared, he added.
Flood waters of up to 1 meter in height was reported on Jl. Adityawarman in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. Vehicles were unable to pass the road.
