riscilla Margaretha, a 38-year-old woman from Milan, Italy is in Jakarta in search of her biological Indonesian mother, whom she has never met, the Jakarta Social Affairs Agency has reported.

The agency’s spokesperson, Miftahul Huda, explained that Priscilla was adopted by Dutch couple Jaap Vermeij and Maud Vermeij Van Ossenbruggen through the Mulia charitable foundation in Jakarta.

Two days after her birth in 1979,  Priscilla’s mother entrusted her to a midwife named Budi Wahyuni, who then handed her over to a foundation in Central Jakarta that has since ceased operations.

Miftahul added that  Priscilla’s birth mother was named Inah. She was 19 years old when she had Priscilla and lived in Kebayoran, South Jakarta.

“Those who know Inah's whereabouts can contact Priscilla via her Facebook account, Priscilla Obermeier, or can call 112 or contact the agency through its Twitter account @dinsosDKI1,” Miftahul said in a written statement on Saturday.

Separately, Priscilla wrote on her Facebook account that her biological mother might be originally from Karawang in Bekasi, West Java. “This holiday season, I’d like to ask you to help me in my search of Inah […] Maybe there is this friend who knows a friend in Jakarta and it can help me find another clue,” she said.
