he installation of closed-circuit television and the procurement of walkie-talkies is needed in areas notorious for brawling and drug abuse in Tanah Tinggi, Central Jakarta, a councilor has said.
Councilor Veri Yonnevil said the alarming number of cases of drug dealing and gang related brawls in Tanah Tinggi should be dealt with as soon as possible using the help of technology.
“Tanah Tinggi Musrenbang [planning and development forum] should focus on [identifying] local needs. The needs of Tanah Tinggi's community are different from those of other neighborhoods,” said Veri after attending the Musrenbang meeting.
He said Musrenbang should not only focus on infrastructure issues such as repairing roads or sewers.
Musrenbang is a forum that discusses annual neighborhood development and involves civil and social workers at the district and subdistrict level . (gis)
