Infant dies because of alleged abuse by mother

A 1.5-year-old infant that was allegedly abused by their mother was found dead in East Bekasi, West Java, on Sunday.
The incident was reported to the police by neighbors who found the dead body full of bruises.
The parents, a 27-year-old mother and housewife and a 24-year-old father and construction worker, allegedly tried to stop the neighbors from reporting the death to the police.
“The neighbors, however, still insisted on reporting their finding,” Bekasi Timur Police chief Comr. Parjana said as quoted by kompas.com.
Parjana further said that, according to the report, the infant was often hit and pinched by the mother.
The police officers visited the couple's house after receiving the report. The infant’s body was taken to Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta for an autopsy. (vny)
