akarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno has requested that the police postpone his questioning as a witness in a land fraud case because he has a tight schedule, an official has said.
“Sandiaga was summoned to appear today, but we’re not sure whether he can come because the latest information I have is that he has an appointment with an embassy. He has asked [us] to postpone the questioning,” said Jakarta Police general crimes director Sr. Comr. Nico Afinta on Tuesday.
Nico added that Sandiaga had been questioned twice as a witness in the land case involving his business partner, Andreas Tjahjadi, who was named a suspect in October. Sandiaga’s name was mentioned by Andreas during questioning.
The case surfaced in March last year, when a lawyer, Fransiska Kumalawati Susilo, filed a police report against Sandiaga and Andreas for alleged land fraud and embezzlement.
The case involves a 1-hectare plot of land in Curug, Tangerang, which was sold for Rp 12 billion (US$840,000) in 2012.
