tate-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) has announced that the construction of a new parking space at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport’s M1 gate has been completed, paving the way for operational trials to begin.
Soekarno-Hatta International Airport senior manager of branch communication and legal affairs Erwin Revianto said in a statement on Friday that the parking space, which he called a transit-oriented-development (TOD) facility, would serve as a transit point for airport employees and travelers alike.
Hence, a free shuttle bus service would operate from 4:30 a.m. to midnight to take employees and travelers to the airport.
A trial period for the new parking facility began on Friday, with free parking for visitors until Feb. 28, ahead of the official start of operations on March 1.
In its first phase, the facility can accommodate 177 cars and 415 motorcycles. Erwin said AP II was planning to expand the parking space. (jlm)
