he Jambi Police destroyed 12 kilograms of methamphetamine and 21,197 ecstasy pills worth up to Rp 16 billion (US$1.2 million) on Wednesday.
“The police had confiscated the narcotics from five drugs suspects over the past 18 months,” Jambi Police chief Brig. Gen. Muchlis said on Wednesday.
The methamphetamine, known locally as sabu-sabu, was mixed with water and detergent, while the ecstasy pills were blended together before being mixed with water.
Relevant authorities from the Jambi provincial government, the Jambi Customs Office, the local prosecutors’ office and local court also witnessed the event. (swd)
