he government opened the subscription period for the SR-010 series of retail sukuk (Islamic bonds) at a 5.9 percent annual yield on Friday. The period will last until March 16.
The Finance Ministry's financing and risk management director general, Luky Alfirman, said the sukuk had a three-year tenor with a minimum subscription of Rp 5 million (US$350) and maximum subscription of Rp 5 billion.
"The SR-010 series is our 10th retail sukuk. It has been 10 years since we launched our first retail sukuk," he said at a press conference at the Indonesia Stock Exchange in Jakarta.
The government has appointed 22 selling agents -- two securities companies, PT MNC Sekuritas and Trimegah Securitas; three sharia banks, Bank BRI Syariah, Bank Muamalat Indonesia and Bank Syariah Mandiri; and 17 conventional banks, including Citibank, Permata and HSBC. (bbn)
