Raffles Jakarta hotel’s Arts Café has just marked Valentine’s Day by presenting a special dinner menu specially prepared by Paul Walsh, a Michelin starred chef who came to Jakarta straight from London, the United Kingdom, especially for the event. Walsh works as an executive chef for London’s City Social restaurant.

The café presented a special dinner menu from Feb. 12 to 14, comprising five-courses prepared by Walsh. Each of the dishes presented was paired with wine. To add more fun to the Valentine’s Day celebration, the hotel included the set menu in a stay package, which also offered a one-night stay in its artist suite and an aromatic couple massage, among other things.

Walsh helped City Social restaurant win Best New Restaurant at the 2014 BMW Square Meal Awards, as well as three Rosettes Awards for the years 2016 and 2017. The London restaurant was also the newest to receive a Michelin star in 2014 and has retained it for four consecutive years since.

Walsh himself started his career working at the renowned Savoy Hotel under the well-known chef Anton Edelmann. He also helped the Savoy Grill restaurant earn a Michelin star. He has been named one of London’s finest emerging chefs. He worked his way up in various restaurants from being commis chef, chef de partie up to executive chef, his current position.
