ublicly listed taxi operator Blue Bird has appointed former Lazada CFO Sandy Permadi as its new finance director, replacing outgoing director Fransetya Hutabarat.
“Sandy’s extensive experience in digital finance will bring strategic value for Blue Bird in the future,” Blue Bird president director Purnomo Prawiro said after an extraordinary shareholders meeting in Jakarta on Friday.
“Management is fully aware of the potential and contribution that Sandy can bring to help the company meet its targets,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sandy said he promised to help the company improve its service to its customers. “I am honored and pleased by the opportunity to join a company of Blue Bird’s caliber. […] I am sure that I can provide a significant contribution to every loyal Blue Bird customer,” he said.
When asked about Blue Bird’s targets for 2018, Sandy declined to go into detail, but he said the company aimed to continue its growth.
“We will continue to do our best this year, developing several initiatives as we did last year, especially in collaborating with companies in the digital ecosystem such as Go-Jek and Traveloka,” he said.
Blue Bird directors also took the opportunity to deny rumors that Go-Jek planned to acquire the company, following the ride-hailing company’s investments in Google and Astra.
“We will continue our normal partnership with Go-Jek,” Blue Bird marketing director Amelia Nasution said.
