he Construction Safety Committee has allowed 13 elevated projects to resume work after being halted for two weeks, following the collapse of the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu toll road section in Kebon Nanas in East Jakarta recently.
Committee chairman Syarif Burhanuddin said in a statement on Tuesday that the recommendation to resume work was based on the committee's evaluation of 17 projects on Monday.
He added the four other projects would be allowed to resume work after they implemented the safety measures recommended by the committee.
The four are the Becakayu toll road project, the Depok-Antasar project, the Double-Double Track (DDT) railway project and the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road project.
According to the committee, Becakayu is required to finalize its formwork, the Depok-Antara toll road is required to complete a lifting procedure and the DDT project contractor is required to replace a launcher gantry. Meanwhile, the committee would inspect the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road project on Wednesday before issuing any recommendations.
Meanwhile, the 13 other projects that will resume work are the Pasuruan-Probolinggo toll road, Surakarta-Ngawi toll road, Ciawi-Sukabumi toll road, the light rapid transit (LRT) Kelapa Gading-Velodrom section, Palembang LRT, Greater Jakarta LRT, Terbangi Besar-Kayu Agung-Pematang Panggang toll road, Jakarta toll road, Serpong-Cinere toll road, Kayu Agung-Palembang-Betung toll road, Krian-Legundi-Bunder-Manyar toll road, Cibitung-Cilincing toll road and Cimanggis-Cibitung toll road.
Committee member Danis Sumadilaga said as reported by tempo.co that the team had begun to evaluate 36 elevated projects soon after the Becakayu accident. (bbn)
