tate-owned railway operator Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) will prepare 16 additional trains to accommodate homebound passengers during the upcoming Idul Fitri holiday.
KAI operational region I spokesperson Edy Kuswoyo said there would be seven additional trains at Senen Station that are able to accommodate 5,202 passengers, and the other nine trains would depart from Gambir Station, all in Central Jakarta, to accommodate 4,142 more passengers.
“The additional trains are for premium and executive classes only — seven for Senen and nine for Gambir,” Edy said Wednesday, as quoted by wartakotalive.com
Meanwhile, regular train tickets can be booked 90 days before Idul Fitri, which will fall on June 15 and 16 this year. The ticket can be bought online or in person at ticket counters.
Furthermore, Senen Station will provide 25 regular trains, with a capacity of 18,468 passengers, while Gambir Station will have 28 trains with a capacity of 12,104 passengers.
“We encourage passengers to keep monitoring the availability of the train tickets via KAI Access, website kai.id and other channels,” Edy said. (wnd)
