Dody Budi Waluyo was inaugurated deputy governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) on Wednesday, replacing Perry Warjiyo, who had been appointed BI’s governor.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Supreme Court and led by Chief Justice M. Hatta Ali.
"The new position is a challenge for me. I have to maintain stability and foster growth," said Dody, whose appointment was based on Presidential Decree No. 69/P/2018 issued on April 13.
The ceremony was attended by BI Governor Agus Martowardojo, other deputy governors and BI officials, as well as state-owned lender Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) president director Achmad Baiquni and Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno.
Dody, who previously held the position of assistant to BI's economic and monetary policy department head, was approved by the House of Representatives after going through a confirmation hearing. (bbn)
