A man was killed on Tuesday in a car crash involving at least three vehicles on Jl. Raya Cikajang in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.
South Jakarta traffic accident chief Adj. Comr. Sunar said that the driver of the Nissan March that apparently caused the crash, Firman, died from a severe chest injury.
"Firman died at the scene. The police have taken his body to Pertamina hospital," Sunar said, as quoted by kompas.com on Wednesday.
The accident occurred when Firman was driving along Jl. Raya Cikajang and allegedly crashed into another car in front of Jl. Raya Cikajang No. 17.
"He swerved to avoid colliding with another car, but apparently crashed into a taxi coming from the opposite direction," Sunar said.
The police have confiscated Firman's car and the taxi, along with their registration documents, as well as the taxi driver's license. (vla)
