Female Indonesian artist Natisa Jones, who comes from Bali, will showcase her artworks in an upcoming month-long exhibition called Grotesk (Grotesque), which will take place from June 30 to July 22 in the Salihara gallery, Salihara cultural center in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta.
The exhibition will showcase Natisa’s exploration of various visual-art mediums through not only her paintings but also drawings and installations. Viewers can expect to find explosions of humor within her artwork, or elements that have unintentionally become funny and humane at the same time.
All of the artworks that the exhibition will showcase look believable and original, produced by a young woman who has to deal with numerous life problems.

In her works, she frequently expresses various personal experiences in the form of spontaneous musings and grunting. Natisa graduated from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology’s Visual Arts School in Melbourne, Australia, in 2011, and has chosen to live in and pursue her artistic endeavors in Bali.
