shoot-out between South Tangerang Police and suspected burglars has resulted in the deaths of two suspects in front of the Esta Dana Ventura Microfinancing office on Jl. Siliwangi Raya, Pamulang, South Tangerang, Banten.

South Tangerang Police criminal unit director Adj. Comr. Alexander said the suspects had firearms and were resisting arrest when the police tried to ambush them.

“We have detained five suspects. Two them were shot dead while resisting arrest and one ran away,” Alex said on Tuesday as reported by wartakota.tribunnews.com.

Alex said police had grown suspicious of the suspect’s activities in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Police reportedly saw the suspects attempting to break into the microfinancing office.

“When one suspect tried to break in, we tried to ambush them,” Alex said.

The suspect immediately returned to a car and attempted to flee the scene with the others.

“One of our members was hit and we opened fire on them,” Alex said.

The bodies of two of the suspected burglars were taken to Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta.

The police have yet to identify the deceased suspects as they were not carrying identification.
