he Pancoran Mas Police in Depok, West Java, have confiscated several weapons from six young men aged 17 to 20 years old, who allegedly planned to brawl on Tuesday at midnight.
The weapons include a sword, an iron whip and some wood blocks.
Pancoran Mas Police chief Comr. Roni Wowor said the six men were residents of Rangkapan Jaya and Rangkapan Jaya Baru sub-districts in Pancoran Mas district. According to their accounts, they planned to attack groups of youngsters in Cipayung and Sawangan, also in Depok.
“We received reports from local residents about the group of youngsters who were preparing to attack other youngsters from neighboring areas,” Roni said as reported by tribunnews.com on Wednesday.
The six young men will be questioned before the police send them back to their respective parents. They will be obligated to sign letters saying they will not repeat such behavior, to avoid legal punishment.
“I will intensify patrols in the Pancoran Mas area,” Roni said. (vla)
