man in Surabaya, East Java, was reportedly caught red-handed stealing a cell phone after getting locked inside his victim's car.
The alleged victim, identified as M. Nasichin, had reportedly pulled over after getting a flat tire. Nasichin did not lock his car when he got out to check his tires. Not long after, he saw his car shaking. He was surprised to discover a man sitting inside. The man, identified as Bambang, 45, was allegedly holding Nasichin's cell phone.
Tambaksari Police crime unit head First Insp. Didik Ariawan said Nasichin proceeded to lock his car and shout for help.
“Since the car was locked, there was nothing Bambang could do except wait until our team picked him up,” Didik said as reported by kompas.com on Thursday.
According to Didik, the suspect told police it was first time committing such a crime.
Bambang also reportedly said he intended on stealing the cell phone because he wanted to have a nice phone to use during Idul Fitri. (dpk/swd)
