ndonesian celebrities Aura Kasih and Bertrand Antolin were spotted on Wednesday watching the country’s para shuttlers compete in an Asian Para Games test event at Istora Senayan in Jakarta.
Singer and actress Aura, famous for the hit dance-hall single “Mari Bercinta” (Let’s Make Love), attended the stadium's afternoon matches.
The 31-year-old said it was her first time watching para athletes compete in the stadium.
"I want to raise awareness about the Asian Para Games because most people only know about the Asian Games. To do that, I feel like I should be here to watch the game in person," Aura told journalists, adding that she would share her day's activities on her social media accounts.
“I also think this event is an opportunity for people with impairments to show their spirit, and we should appreciate that,” she said.
Bertrand, who rose to fame after hosting the music program Clear Top 10 with actress and singer Dewi Sandra in the late 1990s, was among the spectators earlier in the morning.
Aware of the influence celebrities wield on social media, Indonesian Asian Para Games Organizing Committee (INAPGOC) chief Raja Sapta Oktohari said the help of popular names like Aura and Bertrand would be of great benefit to promote the upcoming 3rd Asian Para Games in Jakarta in October.
