Minister urges overtime pay for employees working on election day

anpower Minister Hanif Dhakiri has called on employees to pay overtime to employees that were working on Wednesday, the day of the simultaneous elections in 171 regions.
“Workers, laborers [who] work on election day are entitled to overtime pay or other incentives as regulated by law,” he wrote in the ministerial circular.
He also instructed employees to manage their workers’ schedules so they could participate in the election and exercise their right to vote.
The circular also stated that workers living in regions that were not holding an election was still entitled to overtime pay, because election day was a national holiday. (gis/dmr)
