member of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s expert staff, Armedya Dewangga, was robbed while driving a car alone in Tamansari, West Jakarta, on June 8, causing him to lose some important documents that were stored on his laptop.
Armedya said four perpetrators riding three motorcycles first informed him that his car's tires were flat.
While Armedya exited the car to check the tires, the four people allegedly entered his car and stole his belongings.
The incident was recorded on CCTV cameras at Transjakarta's Glodok bus shelter.
Armedya reported the incident to the Tamansari Police by submitting the CCTV footage.
Denni Purbasari, the chief of Deputy III, which oversees management and strategic economic issues, had submitted a letter to West Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Hengki Haryadi to ask the police to investigate the incident quickly.
Armedya said the perpetrators had took his MacBook, hard drives and Rp 3.3 million (US$229) in cash.
“The total loss is more than Rp 25 million,” Armedya said as quoted by tempo.co. (cal)
