usician Kunto Aji has rewarded his fans’ patience, who were waiting for his second full-length album to drop, by releasing a mini-album on Friday.
Titled Overthinker (Demos), the five-track release is a collection of demos that were originally meant for Kunto’s upcoming second album, which his label Juni Records claims is currently entering its final stages and is planned for release by September.
The albums’ tracks are basically untitled, each one bearing the name “Mantra 1”, “Mantra 2”, and so on. The fittingly titled Overthinker was chosen by Kunto due to the themes that are addressed in the album, which is also the reason why he chose to leave his demo songs untitled.
Collaborators featured on this album, mainly as producers, include Petra Sihombing and Ankadiov.
“I’m just having fun with it. There are some sounds that are actual demos for the second album. The lyrics on this mini-album aren’t that complete, and there could be a lot of changes as I go along,” Kunto said in a statement on Friday.
“Releasing this mini-album as a preview [of what’s to come] is my commitment to my music career,” he added.
Overthinker (Demo) is available for streaming on certain services as Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Joox, iTunes as well as Kunto Aji’s YouTube channel.
