A

man who climbed several high installations in the city the past, identified as Agustinus Woro, was seen on a 150-meter-tall billboard beside the busy Slipi Petamburan area, Central Jakarta, on Thursday.

As reported by kompas.com, Agustinus was seen on top of the billboard without any clothes or safety gear while waving the Indonesian flag around 9:50 a.m. The man also waved to passersby.

At around 12:20 p.m, a police bomb squad (Gegana) personnel was seen climbing the billboard with complete safety gear to take Agustinus down.

When the personnel approached him, Agustinus tried to shoo him away. He then ran to the other end of the billboard to avoid being taken down.

The personnel remained on top of the billboard to persuade Agustinus to safely come down.

Agustinus has climbed several advertising hoardings and electricity towers throughout the city in the past.

In August 2017, he spent nine days perched on a high-voltage tower in North Jakarta, while three months earlier he climbed a billboard near Allianz tower in Setiabudi, South Jakarta. He had also climbed several billboards in Harmoni, Kebon Jeruk, and Grogol, West Jakarta, in December 2016.

The West Jakarta Social Agency has declared that Agustinus is mentally ill. (gis)
