China won gold in the men's rings event thanks to Deng Shudi and in the women's uneven bars with Liu Tingting.

China's Deng, the bronze medalist at the 2016 Rio Olympics, found himself in tight competition with Japan’s Shogo Nonomura, whose score in the final was only 0.1 points short of Shudi’s, who booked 14.7 points.

Fellow Chinese athlete Zou Jingyuan, meanwhile, earned a silver in the men's pommel horse, while compatriot Sun Wei took the bronze; Lin Chaopan got the bronze in the men's floor exercise.

Meanwhile, Kim Han-sol of South Korea took the gold medal in the men's floor exercise, while compatriot Yeo Se-jong claimed gold in the women's vault.

Chinese Taipei’s Lee Chih Kai claimed the gold in the men's pommel horse category.
