Asian Games 2018 ticketing management LOKET has said e-sports tickets will be sold online and can be purchased through smartphones.
LOKET marketing vice president Ario Adimas said his company had been appointed the exclusive partner to offer e-sports tickets for the Games.
“We have prepared the resources, including technology and manpower,” said Ario in a press statement on Friday, adding that the establishment of e-sports in the Games showed that the government had seen the great potential of the gaming industry.
In this year’s Games, e-sports will be a demonstration sport with six games: Arena of Valor, Clash Royale, Hearthstone, League of Legends, Pro Evolution Soccer and StarCraft II – with participants from 18 countries.
E-sports, which is coordinated by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF), and the Indonesia Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC), will be a full competition sport in the 2022 Games.
“Starting from the selection of game, the time of competition, payment and validity will use digital technology. The online ticket sales target millennials, who want things to be done quick and in a practical manner,” Ario said
“[After purchasing online], they just need to show their e-tickets on their cell phones and they will be verified by our team on the field.”
Tickets are priced at Rp 220,000 (US$14.94) for one day passes and Rp 1.2 million for seven-day passes. They can be purchased through asiangames2018.loket.com or https://bit.ly/2PNks6g. (bbn)
