he Jakarta Administration has budgeted Rp 21.4 billion (US$1.46 million) for Jakarta’s athletes and coaches that participated in the Asian Games and Asian Para Games.

“Yes, that is correct, it is proposed at Rp 21.4 billion [for the athletes and coaches],” Youth and Sports Agency head Ratiyono said on Wednesday, kompas.com reported.

The budget proposal had been included in the revised 2018 budget through the general regional budget amendment policy and the temporary regional budget priority and ceiling amendment.

Ratiyono said the administration would give a bonus of Rp 300 million to each athlete that won gold in the games, Rp 150 million to each athlete who won silver and Rp 90 million to each athlete that won bronze.

“However, because the Asian Games is not finished yet, we will follow up,” Ratiyono said.

He said that the winning athletes would not only receive bonuses from the Jakarta administration, they would also receive bonuses from the Youth and Sports Ministry and their personal sponsors. (ami)
