he Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPU Jakarta) has removed 5,429 names from the final voter list due to double entries, the supervisory agency has stated.

With the removal, the number of eligible voters has decreased from 7,211,891 to 7,206,462, according to the Jakarta Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu Jakarta).

"We appreciate the efforts of the KPU Jakarta in fixing the final voter list,” Bawaslu Jakarta supervision department coordinator Burhanuddin said on Sunday, as quoted by tempo.co. “This is our collaborative effort to ensure the voting rights of every citizen.”

He said the removal was a follow-up to Bawaslu’s finding of 10,626 double-registered voters. (stu)
