akmania, a group of avid fans of the Persija Jakarta soccer club, has urged the Bandung Police in West Java to speed up the investigation to find the suspects behind the death of its member, Haringga Sirila, 23, on Sunday.

“We urged the Bandung Police chief to optimize the investigation to catch the suspects and deter them from doing it again. Let this be a lesson to all to rethink and prevent any anger and unwanted actions that could lead to revenge in other places,” Jakmania head Tauhid “Ferry” Indrasjarief said in a written statement.

Haringga was reportedly beaten to death by an unidentified mob outside Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) stadium in Bandung where a match between Persija and Persib Bandung was being held.

The mob chased Haringga out of the stadium to the parking lot and beat him to death, according Jakmania.

Ferry said he had met the family of the victim to retrieve the body. Haringga will be buried in Indramayu, West Java.

He said that the Bandung Police had told him they had arrested 13 suspects and were still searching for more.

Persija president director I Gede Widiade said he had expressed his condolences to Haringga's family.

“Nobody wants this kind of incident to happen,” Gede told The Jakarta Post on Monday.
