A

vocational high school student of SMK Malaka in East Jakarta, identified as Fahri, 17, sustained a cut on his back after refusing to join in a brawl on Wednesday.

According to East Jakarta Police chief Comr. Suhut, the incident occurred when three unnamed perpetrators, claiming to be alumni of the school, told Fahri and two of his friends to join a brawl.

“When they all refused, one of them took out a sickle and slashed the victim,” Suhut said Wednesday, as quoted by kompas.com.

Two of the suspects were then beaten by a mob who thought they were part of street robber gang, while the third suspect fled the scene.

The two suspects were taken to the Duren Sawit Police station, while the victim was taken to the Pondok Kopi Islamic Hospital. (stu)
