outh and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi acted as an impromptu masseur after he visited the chess venue of the 2018 Asian Para Games at the Cempaka Putih Sports Hall, Jakarta, on Thursday.
During the visit, Imam met with Indonesian players competing to win medals in the discipline.
At the meeting, the minister greeted and encouraged each of the Indonesian athletes, while joking with several of the disabled chess players.
A joyful moment came when Imam massaged the shoulders of a visually impaired athlete, Carsidi, who sat in front of him.
“I’ll give you a massage and you pay me Rp 100,000 [US$7],” said Imam, causing the athletes to laugh.
Carsidi has contributed a gold medal to Indonesia’s tally in the men’s group chess visually impaired (B1) category.
