Indian community association Indonesia Tamil Sangam (ITS) has collected Rp 120 million (US$7,881) and donated it to social organization Sai Study Group (SSG) in Jakarta for the natural disaster victims in Central Sulawesi on Saturday.

During this occasion, the SSG informed ITS of the current activities in Central Sulawesi and the plans to build a housing complex for the victims in Palu. The funds would be used to build houses for the victims.

The Tamil-speaking community learned that disaster relief activities had been carried out by the SSG in Palu from its center located in Palu. The community decided to appeal to its members for raising funds and gave the funds to the SSG, which provides humanitarian aid, free medical service and free education to those in need in Indonesia, to help the victims of the earthquakes and tsunami that struck Central Sulawesi in late September.
