S

tate energy holding company Pertamina's upstream subsidiary, Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE),  booked average oil and gas production of 229,441 barrel oil equivalent per day (boepd) in September, exceeding its 224,818 boepd target.

The average for September's oil production stood at 80,103 barrel oil per day (bopd), while gas production amounted to 865 million metric standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd).

“The production increase was caused by the production rate increase of our subsidiaries,” said PHE director for operations and production Ekariza in a statement on Wednesday.

PHE’s subsidiaries are Joint Operating Body (JOB) Medco E&P Tomori Sulawesi, PHE NSO&NSB, PHE Ogan Komering, BOB Bumi Siak Pusako Pertamina Hulu, JOB Pertamina Talisman Jambi Merang and JOB Pertamina Petrochina Salawati.

Ekariza further said oil and gas production from PHE Offshore North West Java (ONWJ), South East Sumatra and PHE West Madura Offshore (WMO) were major contributors to PHE's oil and gas total production in September.

Due to the production increase, ready-to-sell production in September also rose to 81,900 bopd, higher than the previous month average of 61,000 bopd.

However, PHE’s oil production in the first nine months of the year was 3 percent lower than the target of 64,051 bopd, while its gas production was 3 percent higher than the target of 779 mmscfd.

Cumulatively, PHE booked average oil and gas production of 198,505 boepd in the first nine months of the year, exceeding its target. (bbn)
