The report represents 80 out of 128 victims.
akarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono said the police had received a report on a job vacancy scam related to state railway company PT KAI.
“The report represents 80 victims,” Argo said as quoted by kompas.com on Wednesday.
Previously, 128 people were questioned by Gambir Station security in Central Jakarta as they were about to board a train on Sunday at 8:15 p.m. The people were found to be holding fake tickets.
The people had reportedly been conned by a person promising that they would be recruited by KAI if they took part in a training workshop in Yogyakarta.
The alleged scam victims reportedly paid Rp 5 million (US$ 338.94) to Rp 10 million each for the training fee and transportation.
Argo said the case was being investigated. (gis)
