The discovery of a naked male body in a drum caused commotion among residents in Bogor, West Java.
he discovery of a naked male body in a drum in Kampung Narogong in Klapanunggal, Bogor, West Java, caused some commotion among residents of the area.
The finding was reported by a scavenger, Sartika, who said she had seen the body while looking for valuable discarded items.
"I saw the blue drum and approached it to find out if there were any valuable items inside that I could take," the 56-year-old said, as quoted by tempo.co on Sunday.
"It was around 6 a.m., the drum was closed with a plastic lid. I opened it and, oh dear, there was a man. I screamed immediately," she said.
Sartika's scream attracted attention from residents, who crowded the scene to find out what had happened. Police officers arrived at the scene an hour and a half later.
Klapanunggal Police chief Adj. Comr. Bimantoro said the police were investigating the case to ascertain the identity of the body and the motive behind the suspected murder.
“We took the body to the R. Said Sukanto Police Hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, for an autopsy,” Bimantoro said.
Inside the drum, the officers also found a white T-shirt with blood spots all over it. (vla)
