T

he family of Abdullah Fithri Setiawan, a former journalist who was found dead in a drum on Sunday in Bogor, West Java, said they have not been able to locate his car.

The victim used a white Toyota Kijang Innova when traveling to work.

Dufi, as the victim was affectionately known to friends and relatives, was known to have used the car for the last time on Friday, when he parked in Rawa Buntu train station in South Tangerang, before taking the train to his workplace.

“The last WhatsApp chats received by his wife said he had parked his car in Rawa Buntu station. It was at 10 a.m. on Friday and she lost contact since,” Muhammad Ali Ramdoni, the younger brother of the victim, said on Monday as quoted by tribunnews.com.

He added that the police had received the copy of the car identification number and were currently trying to locate it.

A scavenger found Dufi’s body on Sunday inside a blue plastic drum at Kembang Kuning industrial estate in Klapanunggal. The police did not find any identity cards or documents near his body. An autopsy carried out at East Jakarta’s Kramat Jati Police Hospital revealed stab wounds to the neck and abdomen.

Dufi had vast experience working as either a journalist or marketer at mass media organizations, including the Rakyat Merdeka and Indopos dailies, as well as at Berita SatuiNews TV and TVRI television stations.

Dufi later started his own advertising company while he continued working at TVRI and freelancing at TV Muhammadiyah. (fac)
