Singer Marion Jola won the Best New Asian Artist Indonesia award at the 2018 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).
The awards ceremony took place in Seoul, South Korea, on Monday.
“Here’s for dream hardwork and love I love you all!!! Been MAMA fans since 2013 and now being able to hold the trophy, Best New Asian Artist Indonesia, super happy and greatfull,” she wrote on her Instagram account, @lalamarionmj, as quoted by Kompas.com.
Before Marion, Indonesian singers such as Isyana, Raisa and Agnez Mo had also received an award from the Mnet Asian Music Awards.
Other than receiving the award, Marion also performed her trending single “Jangan” (Don’t) in front of other Asian superstars. Others who performed include Wanna One, Haon, Stray Kids, Kim Dong Han, The Boyz, IZ*ONE, (G)I-idle, Loona and Fromis-9.
This year, MAMA is being held in three different countries. After the event in South Korea, MAMA Fans’ Choice will be held in Japan and the last stop will be in Hong Kong.
